Telegram Crosses 1 Billion Downloads Globally, With India as the Largest Market: Report

Telegram has reached the milestone of one billion downloads, according to a report cited by Censor Tower. The new success has brought telegram against apps including WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook and Instagram which have reached the billion download stage.

Although WhatsApp has overtaken Telegram in the number of downloads, there are more users at the moment, according to a report from The Verge. After this app, Instagram is at the second position, Messenger is at the third position, Facebook is at the fourth position and Instagram is the top rated app in the Android chart.

Censor Tower also shared that the number of downloads has increased by 50 percent since January and now stands at 1.3 billion downloads.

Sensor Tower CEO Oleg Lodigin said, "Users have trusted Telegram's platform over the years and its ability to stay true to privacy-focused roots." "We are confident that this trend will continue. We also see potential in the US with a significant increase in downloads.

According to the survey, Telegram, the world's most popular messaging service, topped the list with 17.7 percent market share, followed by WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Facebook and Instagram, respectively.

Meanwhile, Facebook Messenger had a growth rate of 15 per cent, followed by WhatsApp at 11.1 per cent, Instagram at 10.1 per cent and Facebook at 9.7 per cent.

Facebook, on the other hand, has the most popular app in the iOS charts, followed by Apple's own apps, including iMessage, WhatsApp, Maps, Voice and Camera, which are the top five apps in iOS, according to the report.

Anshul Anand, VP of the product at Sensor Tower, said, "The new iOS 11 update provides a lot of new features with improved UI, but with improved UI." “We’ve seen significant growth for Facebook and Instagram, but we’ve also seen users leaving Instagram for an alternative like Facebook. We've seen a decrease in the number of users installing new apps and this is affecting the growth of total apps. ”

According to the report, Facebook also saw an increase in users spending more time on the app, with WhatsApp seeing the most time spent with a 25 percent increase. The report also found that most users are still using the app in the morning and after work hours.

In terms of revenue, WhatsApp saw the highest increase, while Facebook Messenger saw the lowest increase in revenue.
