LG Q92 Getting Stable Android 11-Based LG UX 10 Update

LG Q92 is receiving the stable version of the Android 11-based LG UX 10 update in South Korea. The update comes with standard Android 11 features along with some LG-exclusive features such as Notch management, camera features, and new lock screen notifications. There is no information on the bundled security patch or the size of the update. LG Q92 is also expected to get the Android 11-based update in India, Taiwan, and other markets later this year.

The LG Q92 is one of the smartphones which runs the LG G8 and its successor the LG G8+. Since the phone was announced a couple of years ago, the device has enjoyed high popularity in the mid-tier segment thanks to its impressive screen size and battery life. Last year, LG launched the all-screen LG G8+ in the Indian market, but it seems like LG G8 will be the sole LG G8 successor. LG G8+ is expected to launch this month in South Korea, and the LG G8 will launch in the first half of next year.

In the US, LG launched two mid-tier devices last month – the LG Q7 and the LG V35+. Both devices are mid-tier handsets which do not offer flagship features. Earlier this year, the company announced a new line-up of mid-tier devices in the US with three new handsets, but the devices don’t appear on LG’s US website. All these new mid-tier devices include one with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage and two others with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Talking about the LG Q7, the handset offers 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage along with a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It runs the latest Android 9 Pie operating system and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 439 SoC coupled with a 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 and 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 SoCs. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual front-facing camera setup, a single rear camera module, and the company’s new face recognition technology, AI CAM.

The LG V35+ is an upgrade to the LG V30+ launched last year. LG has upgraded its OLED display panel to a 6.1-inch FullVision display with the resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. The LG V35+ features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dual-camera setup, a single 13-megapixel rear camera module, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,050 mAh non-removable battery. The device is also one of the first handsets in the world to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855+ processor and is one of the first ever smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s XR LTE modem. It is available in Black and Pink color options in the US.

At MWC 2019, LG launched its two flagship smartphones, the LG G8 and the LG V50, both of which are high-end devices and offer flagship features such as a flagship-grade display, AI CAM, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dual camera setup, a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels, and a 3,050mAh battery.

The LG G8 Plus features a 6.1-inch FullVision display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC. It is available in Black and Silver color options. At its launch, the LG G8 Plus was only available in Europe and the Middle East. This is the first G-series handset to feature Dolby Atmos Audio with Dolby Vision.

With the launch of the LG G8 and G8 Plus, the company has taken a big step towards bringing in the augmented reality experience in the premium segment. Both the LG G8 and the LG G8 Plus will be made available in two variants, the G8 Stylus and the G8 Stylus Plus. These are basically stylus-enabled variants that come with a S Pen, which can be used for various features such as handwriting, translation, and drawing. The Stylus will be available in Black, Ocean Blue, Champagne Gold, and Tangerine Dream color options, while the Stylus Plus will come in Carbon Black, Arctic Silver, and Cosmic Black color options.
